KitchenAid introduced stand mixer colors in 1955 and they’ve been a beloved product for home cooks and bakers ever since. So it’s only logical that they’d contribute to Color of the Year trends just like other brands in the home design space, such as Pantone (Cloud Dancer), Behr (Hidden Gem), and Benjamin Moore (Silhouette AF-655). Le Creuset revealed its first new color of 2026 is Forêt, a deep and rich forest green.

As a baker, I was obsessed with last year’s KitchenAid color of the year: butter. And 2025 was indeed a big year for soft, buttery yellows. Past colors have included Blue Salt, Hibiscus, and Beetroot—all colors easily recognizable in the food space that also happen to make splashy and bold statements in the kitchen.

This week, KitchenAid introduced their color of the year for 2026: Spearmint.

Green has been a popular color in kitchens for a while now, from herby greens to bolder and moody shades, and it looks like those green hues aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

Spearmint is a bit brighter and more on the pastel side of the color spectrum with a little touch of teal, making it a perfect choice for a spring refresh. It evokes a light freshness while still feeling a little nostalgic and homey.

Of this year’s new color, Brittni Pertijs (KitchenAid Lead Color, Material and Finish Designer) said, “For this year’s color, we were driven by a desire to refresh our senses and find a moment of clarity. This color breathes life into a space, filling it with soothing yet invigorating energy.”

Spearmint is one of those words that recalls a very specific color, smell, and taste, which is one of my personal favorite things about food and cooking. Often it includes most, if not all, five senses. When I think of fresh mint or mint tea, it calls to mind a coolness that’s soothing and revitalizing, which is what KitchenAid hopes to bring to the table. “It’s the perfect shade to bring clarity, creativity, and a renewed sense of joy into your everyday making.”

This year’s color of the year already has me craving spring baking and fresh flavors. I’m imagining this colorful stand mixer on my counter next to a bouquet of farmers’ market flowers and whipping up something delicious that’s piled with whipped cream, fresh mint, and tons of berries. Winter is over and I’m ready for a refresh!

If you’ve always wanted a colorful stand mixer that speaks to your personality and this revitalizing minty green feels like just what your space is lacking, Spearmint might just be the hue for you.
