Peek Inside a 312-Square-Foot Home in the Woods—Built on Stilts!
One part treehouse, one part cabin, and one part tiny house, this rustic abode is the home of your dreams.
Using materials from a reclaimed barn, Canadian designer and blogger Lynne Knowlton channeled her love for the outdoors and created a rustic treehouse on stilts on her family’s property northwest of Toronto.
Living Area
Lynne and her contractor rescued a nearby barn (that had been destroyed in a tornado) to form the bones of the treehouse. Salvaged windows (including stained glass from an old church) complete the vintage look.
Kitchen
To offset the wood clad walls, Lynne embraced white decorative elements, including curtains, light fixtures, furniture, and milk glass accents.
Dining Area
The breezy, sheltered area under the main structure serves as an ideal all-weather dining room. The table and chairs are made from reclaimed boats.
Bathroom
Blending seamlessly with its surroundings, the plumbing-equipped outhouse—cheekily dubbed the "laTREEn"—has a live edge wood countertop and a one-of-a-kind carved stone sink.
